I got my hair cut on Thursday, and we LOVE our hair girl. Bennie is the biggest riot and I'm dying for her to have her own reality TV show. But we're both sitting there, going, Okay, our lives are so boring that there really isn't much to update each other on in the last six weeks.
SERIOUSLY.
How depressing is that? I work, I take care of my dog, I do a social thing here or there with some friends, I eat, but really, what else, other than that? My days run into each other; I'm often asking people what day it is, because heaven knows I can never remember.
So, thinking about this days-running-into-each-other thing, I thought, "Is this what it's like when you're a stay-at-home mom?" I hear about the sometimes monotony or drudgery of the same thing every day, changing diapers, making food, cleaning everything up, etc. Or is it just life in general?
So what do you do to break up the monotony? Honestly, it doesn't feel too bad living it, but I'm sure it's boring to read about! Sorry 'bout that.

I have the same problem when I go to see my hair girl, but I go much less often than you do--maybe every three months or so. Even then, still nothing to talk about.
At this point, I work on counting the days down. I am working toward graduation, so there's a bit of an event in sight.
I do kind of work toward events. I plan a vacation that I can look forward to, I figure out a great movie I'll go see, I plan on visiting my favorite restaurant, etc. For me, it's all about coming up with events that break up the same-ness of my life.
And for what it's worth, I love reading about your life. :)
Sometimes when I find that my life is pretty stale and boring I figure out new things to do. I love trying and experiencing different things. There are a lot of things to do that are surprisingly free or inexpensive.
I too love reading your blog so keep it up!
Your life...boring?? I better plan a special visit to CA just to convince you that your life is not boring. I don't care if the economy is bad. I'm flying down next weekend and we will work on this. Don't try to stop me. These days plane tickets are just clicks away.
I am the queen of leading a boring life. YOU should be helping ME. I don't feel cool even at ALL these days.
Liz, that all works great when you have something to count down TO. Graduation? Check. Vacation? Can't check. No $$. I realized yesterday I'm starting to count down to WORK TRIPS. Is that pathetic? I'm thinking, Okay, ASE, August 9-11. CJU, Sept 15-17. Hopefully I can go to both! I'm such a dork. =) I gotta get a trip to Utah in there, somewhere. Restaurants? Now you're talking my language. I think we're planning on CPK tomorrow. Because we have a coupon. =)
Tara, it's true! There are lots of new and fun (and free!) things. What are some of your favorites that you've done or learned recently?
Wendy! Darnit, you're just gonna have to come down here and see me. A pizookie might even be in order. Say, Saturday night, perhaps? I'm just throwing a date out there. One that we've already decided on, and a placed we've already decided on. =)
Kendra, I heart you. When are we gonna watch FRIENDS together? Now THAT could be something I could look forward to!
