Nicole's HILARIOUS post (seriously, go read it asap--her link's on the right) with a brief mention of Under Armor reminded me of one of my blonde moments this summer.
My aunt and uncle and two cousins came and stayed with us for a week over the summer. My cousin Trevor is 23 and hilarious, but not exactly the most organized; he's always losing stuff, walking into lakes with his cell phone in his pocket (he's on his 7th cell phone since returning home from his mission a year ago), etc.
I walked downstairs one morning and they were talking about how Trev forgot something and would need to head out to a store. They kept talking about Under Armor, but I thought it was their slang for garments--our family is ALL about nicknames and we've got a million nicknames for everything. It's ridiculous. So this whole time they're talking about Under Armor--mind you, at this point, I had NO idea it was a brand of athletic-type clothing!--I'm thinking, Do they REALLY think they're still in Utah and can just hop on down the street and pick up some more G's? This is California! We have a Starbucks every other block, but not a Distribution Center.
Yeah, I'm blonde.

The King and I
You know when you're driving for, oh, I dunno, 12 hours straight, and it's 2 am, and you're kind of floopy? My mom and I remembered the most random memory while we were driving yesterday--or this morning, really--but I think it's even still funny today, AFTER some sleep.
I was the king in my 1st grade play. I don't remember much about this incident, but apparently I wanted to be the king, and the teacher didn't have any problems with that--neither did any of the other students or students' parents! As we were talking about this last night, we were kind of like . . . Uh, what? WHY did I want to be the king? I mean, really? This would've been in either '89 or '90--who knew Mrs. Otto, in her Lexus LS400 and classy clothes and fancy words, was so progressive?

A Happy Day
Since it's really been a VERY sad day, I'm having to focus on happy aspects. What is the reason for my semi-true "Happy Day" title, you ask? Nicole started a blog! It's as though my world is finally complete. So now I get my dream of Ramblings By Nicole, which is witty, funny, AND filled with debits and credits--it really is my dream! My next dream? An Alias-meets-Felicity post in classic Nicole style.

The Perfect Remedy
The perfect remedy for being a little sad (see previous post) or really tired (welcome to finals + graduation) is apparently this:
Kendra + Tina + FRIENDS (especially the bloopers) = so much laughter your cheeks hurt
Yes, I like math. =)

A Bit Sad
My mom just called saying my dog is at Urgent Care; he is probably going to have surgery soon. I'm so sad! He's so far away and I can't be there! I hope he makes it through this. . .
I'm In The News
Well, BYU's newspaper, so I guess it's less cool that this is my third time in the (BYU) newspaper this year. But this one's food-related, so it shouldn't be a shocker to anyone.

Favorite Quotes From Tonight
Liz was really on a roll tonight at Matty's. Some of my favorites:
"Don't know if we need to clarify, but I'm not a slut."
"I'll just be over here doing calculus, because that's what we hos do."
"Laura has a lot of food pimps."
"I'm not funny; I'm just moderately offensive."

So I've been thinking . . .
Today three folks complimented me on my hair. I LOVED it! I'll take compliments any day, but rarely do I feel my hair warrants a compliment, and it probably rarely does. But today with the windyness of Utah, maybe I was poofy. Or something. So now I'm thinking, should I do my hair every day, and then before going out to see people, plop down in front of my fan and just let it do its thing?

BOO-yah!

Tonight a very special thing happened. Not just my attendance at the Jazz game, though that was very special. No, my car hit 100,000 miles on the WAY to the Jazz game. It's perfect, really. Almost poetic. Right as I was getting off the 600 S exit, I looked down and . . . voila! My car is so good to me.
Tee Hee!
I'm not going to lie: I laughed really hard this morning when I found out this morning that Elder Bednar is speaking at graduation. I'm not laughing because of THAT, really, but because who I get for graduation versus who Brooke got for graduation (Dick Cheney). So Brooke? "I have excellent news for myself." =)

I *heart* Liz!
Liz got up and bore her testimony, starting off by saying she told me she would before I moved, and the time is far spent, etc. Can I just say? Perfect birthday present! Yeah, I'm calling it that. Okay, but seriously. Liz, can I just put you in my pocket and take you everywhere with me? I want you to narrate my life! You need to come visit me, and more than just in October. You rock my world.

Happy Birthday To Me! Part II
I'm a wee bit hungry. I had lunch with LittleSister's big sister, and I have dinner plans at 7 pm, but that's a long period of time in between. How am I going to satiate my hunger on this, my birthday, you ask? Simple. LittleSister's leftover lasagna. Life is good.
Happy Birthday To Me!
Okay, this birthday is rocking so far, and it's only 2:43 pm! I seriously have the best friends ever. One of them, my former Business Writing/Presenting teacher, brought by a birthday present for me: a t-shirt that says, "Good Grammar is Hot." I LOVE IT!

I'm A Blue
I'm a Blue--what can I say? I'm getting EXTREMELY nostalgic; I love BYU so much and I don't want to leave it! Really, I just want to take BYU, along with 30 or so of my friends, put it and them all in the U-Haul, and head back to California. Seriously, I'm going to be a wreck on Monday and Tuesday (last day of classes). If I cry, it's not you, it's me. And amazingly enough, Brother Fluhman's class is my very last class, which I find incredibly fitting since he was the very first class/teacher I had when I came up here five years ago, and this is my fifth class from him. I'm crying just thinking about my last day! Okay, so, warning to y'all: If I cry, know that I just love BYU too much. That's all.
LittleSister's Amazing Lasagna (aka Food Whore II)
Long-time readers of my blog (all two of you) might recall my obsession with LittleSister's lasagna, and my desire to eat a whole pan last time she made some and shared it with me.
She emailed me a couple days ago and said, "I made lasagna!" I told Jeanette this, and I quote, "Did she make two pans?"
I really am a food whore.
So I asked LittleSister last night if she made two pans. "Yeah, but one was for Lindsey (her actual big sister) for her birthday. But you can have your whole pan."
She knows me so well.

Food Whore
My sister calls me a food whore. I don't necessarily think she's wrong, but I do think it's a nickname that's really applicable to all the girls in our family. Let's be honest. We love food. And it loves us.

Granola
I realized something kind of cool about granola today. (quick note: I don't eat granola in milk; I either eat it plain or with blueberries on top) Even if stale, you can't really tell. It's still hard and crunchy. Good to know . . .
