Feeling Old

Sometimes there are certain things that make you feel a little . . . old.

Like when you start asking for things like Henckels for Christmas.

Or when you purchase your first big, flat-screen TV.

Or when you shudder at the cost of car maintenance in the last month, but then figure if you spread it out (in your head, at least) over the next five years, it's not all bad.

OR . . . when you go to dinner with one of your dearest, favoritist friends from college who's in town and she, living in South Provo, mentions Ward Prayer.

Holy cow! That feels like ages ago. And I don't know if I could do Ward Stare again.

What makes you feel old?

What makes ME feel old?! How about having FIVE children. FIVE. That's a lot. And they're getting big. It's freaky.

I feel old baby-sitting. I baby-sit for 2 families and they both have teenagers and man do I feel old talking with them or trying to give them advice!

Also, I feel old when my knee aches. Old people start falling apart. :)

here is what makes me feel old...

the fact that when i served a mission we still used the post office, i had a 35 mm film camera to capture all of the wonderful memories, and we used pagers when we needed to get in touch with the zone leaders.

also this, when I was in school the teacher still used a chalkboard with chalk and erasers...

oh, and the fact that i was born in 1980...

Born in 1980? Wah. Try being a product of the 70s! :) I was born more then 20 years into the LAST CENTURY! HAHA. My joints creak. I tried doing a cartwheel today and then a summer sault and places popped that probably shouldnt have :) But somebodys gotta teach these kids how to do it. Then I looked around embarassed and was glad to see no one was watching this old lady attempting gymnastics. :) HAHA. That and I used to listen to my parents talking about thier cafateria plan and thinking that what they were talking about had nothing to do with my school lunch. Didnt make any sense. But now we have one! :)
