Life is Good

I've been working outside for some time today--from about 1pm on. It's been absolutely beautiful and Kobe and I have been having a grand time working outside; he's mostly been working on his tan, though.

Mom is thrilled with this whole production because, if Kobe isn't inside with me while I work, he doesn't have the opportunity to "drop hairs," as we say. So now she's trying to come up with some way to get my desk and everything set up outside so I can just work outside everyday, negating any "hair dropping" problems we may have had before.

An outdoor office? Who knew? But the Mother of All Things Clean will try to make it happen.

I miss working outside with natural light and air. I have to keep my dept. stocked with excedrin due to frequent headaches caused by bad lights, lack of ventilation, and tiny computer screens. Can you tell I have a lot to vent about right now??

This has nothing to do with your poast but as I've been watching Gilmore Girls I realized certain things about the show I loathe (because listing the cutesy funny things would take too long:

Jess

non-Michele heavy episodes

Lane (I know, a shocker, but her
character feels so contrived at times)

Dean, post-breakup (something about losing Rory immasculates him and he gets whiny and nervous)

did I mention Jess?

Max (Laura and I will agree to disagree on this one but couldn't they have given him a more suave name like... I don't know... anything besides MAX? I sounds like a dog's name -- and I mean people who name their pets poorly, not like you and Kobe)

Working in a cubicle from 9-5 would kill me, so I hear you. Hence my working until 1:30am this morning in my PJs and in bed, and starting the same thing again at 9:30am. But hey, I'm going to take off a few hours now and go play with 8-week-old German Shepherd PUPPIES!

See, your list of Gilmore Girls annoyances, in my world, really just revolves around how much Rory sucks. Actually, I liked her in the first season, and then I realized the actress had no talent and no range and couldn't do anything better. But then the character really started sucking: all these guys liked her when she had no personality, horrible posture, and didn't really have anything going for her other than the fact that she can read and her mom is a hoot and a half? I don't get it.

I also didn't like the demasculinization of Dean. Started out as a good character, then became wimpy and dull.

I hated Jess. Think he's a good looking actor, but meh. The bad boy who skips school and wears leather jackets and is moody is such a tired cliche in my book. I was over moody guys when I turned four.

I love anything with Lane, especially when her mother's involved, but that's usually because it means Rory does less talking, and that's always a winning combination.

I'll give you the Max name. You know I dug the character, but I'll give you the name. I think you should come up with some of your own names for Max, and not like the ones Rory did.

You know I don't like Rory. I also don't like the townspeople much, especially Miss Patty and Taylor. Luke, meh. You know I watched the show for the conflict and back-and-forth with Lorelai (whom I adore) and her parents (also adore). That was always the most interesting part to me: how does one go about fixing a relationship where each party has a way of looking at life and living it so fundamentally differently?

And the scene with the thousand yellow daisies will make me cry every time. And not because of any allergies-through-the-TV-screen.

One of my favorite quotes?

"This is it! She can finally go to Harvard like she always wanted, and get the education that I never got, and get to do all the things that I never got to do, and I can resent her for it, and we can FINALLY have a normal mother-daughter relationship!"

The End.

For now.

Ok, so I like Taylor and the one guy who does all the fix-it jobs. I love Lane's mom but not herself.

And yes, Rory gets extremely tiresome but in season one she's just cutesy enough that it doesn't make you want to take a screw driver to the head.

Kirk (or Kurt)! That's the name of the guy who does all the fix-it jobs.

Honestly, Richard gets on my nerves and they could just make the whole show about Lorelai and Emily. Emily and Paris are like peanut butter. They make any character more intersting just be sharing a scene with them.
