Under Armor

Nicole's HILARIOUS post (seriously, go read it asap--her link's on the right) with a brief mention of Under Armor reminded me of one of my blonde moments this summer.

My aunt and uncle and two cousins came and stayed with us for a week over the summer. My cousin Trevor is 23 and hilarious, but not exactly the most organized; he's always losing stuff, walking into lakes with his cell phone in his pocket (he's on his 7th cell phone since returning home from his mission a year ago), etc.

I walked downstairs one morning and they were talking about how Trev forgot something and would need to head out to a store. They kept talking about Under Armor, but I thought it was their slang for garments--our family is ALL about nicknames and we've got a million nicknames for everything. It's ridiculous. So this whole time they're talking about Under Armor--mind you, at this point, I had NO idea it was a brand of athletic-type clothing!--I'm thinking, Do they REALLY think they're still in Utah and can just hop on down the street and pick up some more G's? This is California! We have a Starbucks every other block, but not a Distribution Center.

Yeah, I'm blonde.

It would have been even funnier if my co-worker had showed up in his garment top and tried to pass that off as appropriate office attire.

Have you ever worn under-armor? As the elite athlete that you are, you should where some when you play basketball. You will be amazed.

Liz, did you turn into my sister? =) (she always calls me Nerd, or Nerdling)

Nicole, so true! Any more new co-worker-attire stories?

Tod, I just bought my first pair of Under Armor bkb shorts this year. Once I saw the brand my cousin was talking about, I totally recognized the logo; I just had no idea THAT was the name. I haven't played much ball in the last, oh, I dunno, 12 years? =)
