I baked cookies tonight.
Woah. I know. It's huge. I've baked cookies . . . well, I can't remember the last time I baked cookies. I don't think I even bought sugar up at school until I tried my hand at making green and red curries. I just never had the ingredients for cookies.
And really, why would I bother? Wendy kept me in Reese's Peanut Butter cups when I lived at Liberty Square for those two minutes. I blocked out everything from my Fleur-de-Lis year, except hanging out with Kerry and Marla. So then, first year at Timp Gateway, Marla baked cookies every week. The next year, Mary did. The year after that? Well, Brooke and Sue. Hahaha! (did you two even use the kitchen? I forget)
So I didn't eat any cookies that year. Wait! That was the year LittleSister was a freshman, so I probably did have cookies. And then last year, Karli seemed to make 'em pretty often, too. And then there's my aunt Jo, the cookie queen-slash-expert. (seriously, how she can see the cookie sheet from across the kitchen and know that one needs two minutes, another needs four, and the last one just needs 30 seconds, I'll never know). We know there's a reason I went up to Bountiful as much as I possibly could . . .
So my cookie cravings have been well taken care of for the last five years. Until now. What do we have in our freezer/fridge/cupboard? Nuts. Soaked grains. Veggies. Fruits. Agave nectar. Coconut oil. So I broke down and made nine--NINE, since that's all we had ingredients for--peanut blossoms, the cute little guys with the Hershey's kiss on top. They were yum.

Hmm...cookies. So I went to Bed Bath and Beyond because it's so close to my house and I seriously looked at EVERY combination of bedding and wasn't really feeling anything. Then on my way out I stopped by the front clearance section (you know how that store has like 4 clearance sections?) and immediately saw a set that I loved and got it. But I wasted so much time there!
Ha ha! I love how 99% of that comment had nothing to do with baking cookies . . . =)
But I'm so excited for you! I meant to send you a link of my favorite bedding last night, but my head injury makes me s l o w.
You're right! My mom IS the cookie queen. Unfortunately, I inherited her love for cookies. But, also unfortunate is the fact that I'm not quite as good at baking them as she is. :)
Ha ha! Jocee B, your mom is hilarious. You know I think this. But SERIOUSLY, how does she do it? She's got this gift for cookies.
I think you should have a blog of your most hilarious baking blunders, and I think your first post should be about the enchiladas with the 1/4 cup of salt. =)
Thanks for the good press@ You could have said so many unflattering things about me and I'm glad I got a 4 star rating. And, you're welcome at our house any time. I know someone who is a perfect "tie picker outer!"
I can't picture you baking cookies...but as I thought about it, I realized that I've had cookies at your place before. We had a cookie party. Who made those??
You do have special tie selection skills...
Jo! My famous aunt Jo, cookie expert and all.
Liz, when I'm having a party, I like to make as little work for myself as possible, so I believe Nestle made those cookies at my cookie party.
And yes, I'm incredible at picking out ties. You need a tie? I'm your girl.
Awww. Thanks for not blocking me out of the FDL memories. It really means a lot! ; ) That place was something else. Glad it's behind us! Right? Right!
Ha ha! I've missed your "Right? Right!"
I had the most random memory of you at FDL the other day. I think I was in the shower, so I missed a call from you. The voicemail was something like, "Miss Laura. I know you're here. I see your car." =) Remember how we had our spots in the parking garage?
