We're A Little Slow . . . Part II

I saw a couple movie previews today and thought they looked just . . . awful. So then I tried to remember which movies I've actually gone to the theater for this year, and I came up with two movies, three times (at least, that I can remember): Forever Strong and Emma Smith: My Story (twice!). The former movie is based on an LDS dude, and the latter is obviously based on Emma Smith. Yes, I realize I'm a total nerd. But really, have there been that many movies out this year that have been worth seeing? Am I really that slow? Or are most movies these days just rent-worthy?

The only movies I thoroughly enjoyed this year were documentaries -- Man on Wire (about a French tight rope walker who was arrested for walking across the twin towers in the 70s) and Encounters at the End of the World (about the lives of scientists and other inhabitants of Antarctica).

P.S. It's so cute when you confess to being a nerd!

This is a major dilema of mine. No good movies to watch. Period. Always let me know if there are movies I should rent (I never go to movies..meet Sage & Drew & cheapness). Do you recommend both of these movies you mentioned in your post? Haven't seen either one. If so, I'll rent forsure! Movies are my fav (but they have to be good).

I loved both movies! I read a biography on Emma Smith a couple summers ago, and am almost done with the Joseph Smith biography now, so the Emma movie was pretty sweet. I loved seeing things from her perspective, though I honestly think the title of the movie would be more accurate if they called it Emma Smith: My Love Story.

I've rented tons of movies in the last year, so I'll go through that list and we can chat about it, JoceeMcB.

And yeah, I'm totally a nerd. Thanks for the props, Wendy. =)
