The Melting Pot was FANTASTIC--thanks for your suggestions, folks! And thanks, Lyndsey, for giving me the nudge I needed to bite the $$ bullet and make reservations.
We started with the spinach artichoke cheese thing, then got salads (the California and the Spinach Mushroom--yum!), then the meats in the Coq au Vin (thanks, Kerry!), and then the desserts in the chocolate/caramel/pecans thing. The food was AMAZING, and it was a true dining experience: 2.5 hours later, we were finally stuffed! Meats? Cheese? Herbs? Sauces? We were in heaven.
The most hilarious part of the evening was actually the waiter asking me out. My mom threw out there that "all of us are single!" Gotta love my mom, working hard to hook me up even on HER birthday! So selfless. =) I was very impressed with the guy: any man with the guts to ask you out in front of your mom and sister, and even throw in a compliment or two while doing so, wins major points.

All you think about is food. Speaking of food, we found a new sushi place that is AMAZING!!
You know me so well.
But sweetie, sushi is icky. I'll bite, though: Where is this new amazing place? I'm feeling nostalgic for Provo right now (though, more honestly, nostalgic for my favorite people and for the awesomeness that is BYU, as well as the fantastic (reasonably priced) restaurants).
So....did you say yes? :)
Excuse me? You got asked out on a date by your WAITER!? What was he like? Did you make plans? I demand a follow up post!
Um, details please!!!
So glad to know you liked Melting Pot. I've been debating going there forever. You'll have to let me know things to forsure order or things to forsure not order. I'll have to go sometime soon! :)
And, yeah, did you say yes? Fill us in!
I sure hope you said YES!!! That is so fun - I know why he asked you out that night - you looked hot hot hot!
I did say yes, and we hung out on Monday! I'll post about that soon.
JoceeB! So fun to see your cute self (or screen name) on here. If I were to go again--and I totally will--I'd get everything the exact same. Spinach Artichoke cheese thing to start, then the meats in Coq au Vin, and the desserts in the chocolate/carmel/pecan fondue. Although I did hear tonight from the Cardalls that the chocolate/raspberry fondue is amazing, too. Given my love for the Great Wall of Chocolate (w/ extra sauce) from Chang's, I'm sure I'd love it!
