Brooke is one of my favorite people (and in the middle of this pic, which Jamie and Emily might kill me for posting)--and one of my favorite roommates from BYU! She was telling me how she couldn't post some things on her blog because certain people would realize she was talking about them. Knowing we know some of the same folks and read each others' blogs, I offered her some space here. Really, it's entirely selfish on my part: this way I am, by association, funnier! Thanks, Brooke!
i know i haven't updated my blog own lately, but something is coming soon. in the meantime, ChurchGirl kindly loaned me her blog for this story:
this month has been pretty intense for me between incredibly crazy school, issues with a close friend, and my grandfather's death. i really wanted some quality temple time before the Thanksgiving holiday. i mentioned this to a friend & was reminded why i don't discuss my church life with anyone.
me: yeah, i'm going to the temple on wednesday before i leave
clueless friend: oh, i think i'll go with you. i mean, i know you like going to the temple alone & all, but i've been wanting to go too. so i'm coming with you.
me: oh, mmmmmm, uhhhhh... (why are you inviting yourself? i can't tell someone they can't come to the temple, but i need my alone time!)
clueless friend: great!
the night before the temple:
clueless friend: what time do you want go to the temple tomorrow? i was thinking 9-ish? also, i invited the german girl to come too.
me: oh, ummm, super. i actually want to leave early so i am going at 8am. why don't you go at 9 with the german? (so you KNEW i wanted to go alone, invited yourself, & then invited others? wow, you're awesome)
clueless friend: fine (i could tell she was annoyed i was trying to get out of it, but what did she expect?)
me: great!
later overheard phone conversation between cluess & the german:
clueless friend: oh, yeah, totally, we can go at 8. i just didn't know if you'd want to go that early. then we can go with Brooke!
me: (in my head) well thats just freakin awesome. great.
so, we went all went to the temple at 8am. and then we went to breakfast together! it was just fan-dam-tastic!

Mmmm . . . breakfast. Now I'm thinking of Las Brisas and the all-you-can-eat brunch. Thanks, Brooke!
I like this story, because I know that I'm not the clueless friend. That's the perk of living in a different state--we can be friends, but I'm probably not that irritating. I'm more lovable from a few states away...sounds like the clueless friend would be too!
