OCD

On Facebook the other day, I changed my status to something along the lines of, "Laura wishes she could fly. You know, so that after you vacuum, you don't mess up the perfect little vacuum lines." TallLindsey, formerly of TG313 and now of TG214, said something about how that reminded her of her OCD grandpa. So true!

It totally runs in my family. For example, today we were getting a new fridge/freezer (for the garage, since the one in the house clearly is not big enough for the three of us (Kobe counts, since he eats food food)). It was going to be delivered to us between 3-5pm. Most folks would probably just be fine with, oh, I dunno, letting it be delivered, and calling it a day, right?

Nope! Not us! It turned into a HUGE clean-out-the-garage day, move EVERYTHING around, hose everything out, and let's see how many boxes and how much junk we can throw away. Mind you, we dejunked a few months ago. But we didn't move everything and hose everything out, nor dust the tops of the cabinets. This was some serious, serious work. There was also a trip to Costco, to buy 25 of their Sterlite stackable containers and one of their 125lb industrial-strength storage shelves. We have yet to put it together, but somehow we did manage to slide it out of the car and into the garage. Go us.

After a ten-hour day of manual labor, I'm going to curl up in a ball and watch me some Michael Vaughn. Or maybe some Noel vs. Ben. Be still, my heart. And I will go to my grave saying that any 9-5 job is easier than working for someone with OCD worse than mine, bless my mother's heart.

Ah, Vaughn...a good ending to any day.
