I changed the strings on my Taylor 110 today (not the Taylor that's my baby, but the one I take to the beach, canyons, etc.). I took a look at the strings on the guitar today and realized I hadn't changed them since getting the guitar for my birthday 1.5 years ago. Not good.
I got the strings compliments of Elixir for participating in a string study. I learned two things from the string-changing today:
1. The Taylor 110 has different tuning pegs than my 814ce. My work today on this guitar looks horrible; it looks like a 5-year-old changed the strings. It's embarrassing. I'll have to figure out how to make the strings wind prettier on these tuning pegs because this is just . . . awful. I'm a girl. It needs to look pretty!
2. I now know why I switched to Elixir coated strings, away from Phosphor Bronze strings. These are Phosphor Bronze strings that Elixir's now trying out. Ew. And I gotta stick with these until they break or wear out thanks to the study. Icky, icky and ew. I can't wait to get back to my beloved coated strings; polyweb on my 814ce, and nanoweb on my 110. Dare I try Elixirs on my electric? As if their strings aren't already $$. Hmmm . . . maybe they'll have a string study in which I can participate . . . =)

This is my favorite line: "I'm a girl. It needs to look pretty!"
I love the title...
